We won Excellence in Sustainability

This one's for every client who chose reuse over the bin.

Terraguard Technologies has been named winner of the Excellence in Sustainability award at the 2026 Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce Business Awards, held at Easthampstead Park Hotel in Wokingham alongside winners across 13 categories.

Why it matters to us

Every year, organisations retire mountains of computers, laptops, servers and phones, and too much of it is treated as waste when it still has years of working life left. E-waste is now the fastest-growing waste stream in the world, and every device that's scrapped instead of reused also throws away the manufacturing emissions already locked into it.

Rather than defaulting to destruction, we focus on extending the working life of business IT and putting it back into circulation. Every collection is fully sanitised first, so reuse never comes at the cost of security — our clients get the confidence to keep equipment moving rather than sending it to landfill, plus a genuine, reportable improvement to their own CSR and ESG figures.

The results so far

By putting unwanted IT back into use, we've reduced CO2 emissions by over 735 tonnes so far this year* — roughly the equivalent of driving a petrol car 1.88 million miles, or about 75 trips around the world.

*Calculated using our earlier (v1) CO2 methodology. Our model has since been rebuilt on more accurate, itemised data (v2), which generally shows a higher saving per device. See our current figures, worked out on that updated basis.

“We're really proud of this achievement. Too much perfectly usable IT still ends up being scrapped, so having our reuse-first approach recognised means a lot to the whole team. Thank you to the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce, and to every client who chose reuse over the bin. This one's for you.”
Natalie King-Barnard, Commercial Director

Retired business IT isn't a waste stream, it's a resource — and an award like this tells us the wider business world is starting to see it that way too.

Could your organisation do the same?

No obligation. If we are not the right fit we will say so.
