Dual-location IT disposal for the public sector
A routine collection meets a sudden facility closure, without holding up the handover deadline.
The client
A regional council office, collecting periodically (roughly one to two times a quarter) under public sector procurement compliance and Scope 3 ESG reporting requirements.
The problem
The council had scheduled a routine quarterly collection of 108 devices from their primary facility. Mid-booking, their IT support team was handed an urgent second job: the immediate closure and clearance of a completely separate storage facility, holding a diverse, uninventoried mix of legacy equipment. They needed a partner who could scale up logistics and run a dual-site extraction on short notice, without any drop in data security across two unrelated batches of hardware.
What we did
We adapted the logistics plan to run both sites at once, deploying secure transport to each. The secondary site had no pre-sorted inventory, so our technicians logged and tracked every asset at the point of collection, keeping an unbroken chain of custody from both sites back to our facility. Every drive went through our standard certified sanitisation process, verified at bit level.
The result
Two separate, unique audit trails — one per site — so the council's internal team could reconcile assets against the right department budgets. For their ESG and procurement reporting, we then collated both into a single quarterly report, giving stakeholders one view of the full picture rather than two partial ones. The secondary site was cleared on time, with zero operational downtime or compliance gaps, and working hardware from both sites stayed in circulation rather than being shredded.
